The staff was amazing, they were always trying to go a bit of an extra mile to satisfy the eventual needs we had, super friendly and helpful. Dinner was also super good with friendly prices and huge portions. The pool hours are also super nice covering a good part of the day.
The kid's room and arcade games at the reception were also very convenient.

We had an incredible stay here. We came for two nights initially and ended up staying 9! The views are wonderful, the rooms are cozy and quaint, the staff is so nice and helpful, breakfast was fabulous as well as the restaurant. It is quiet but not too far from town. Having a car is nice while staying here since it’s up a steep hill from town. Would stay here again next time in Chamonix.

I am slightly disabled in that my mobility is restricted by arthritis. Chamonix is a beautiful town in itself but it can be difficult to get around at night.I wanted to check out the live music scene but had real difficulty with transport.Although it is free,or cheap all day it is nearly impossible to get a taxi (unless I have been calling the wrong numbers!).I was told by some locals that they are tied up doing airport runs, how true this is I don't know. I think if you have similar problems then book a long time ahead or online.Otherwise the place is brilliant you have breathtaking views of the high mountains above, alpine meadows and a town that wants for nothing. It is easy to visit Les houches Argentiere and all the beautiful ski areas, even if you can't ski there are mountain railways and cable cars. Expensive but well with it. It is becoming my second home now.

A many time visitor, easy to get about on buses or train and some of the best off-piste there is anywhere. Looking forward to the re-opening of the top cable car so the biggest / best runs will be accessible once again. CMD make sure you don't go down the road Vial and Alterra have taken (selling season passes and driving up day tickets to drive sales of these products and thus maxing out their profits) - On vous voyons!!

Skiing in Chamonix is extreemly snow dependant.
Skiing in Chamonix is extreemly snow dependant. Should you be lucky enough to have several days of powder, each of the individual resourts are more than large enough with loads of off-piste opportunites to ski.
However, as this is a season with limitid snow conditions, each individual resourt becomes too small, with too many people on the piste, as there is too litle snow in the terrain. As such, I would much rather recommend the surronding resorts such as Courmayeur or Verbier for a weeks stay, as you then get away from the dayly transport with busses etc.
The need to tranfere between the different resorts to ski by buss is also a negative aspect, as it is pure madness with everyone trying to get on the first bus that comes. I would definitely not recommend Chamonix for families based on this, as younger children would strugle with the stampede....
As a town Chamonix has a lot to offer, with good shops and resturants, but as a ski destination, I will probably not return, but head off to larger interconnected resorts.

The Chamonix valley provides some of the most amazing alpine scenery anywhere. The mountains are stunning and the opportunities for ski and snowboard adventures in winter are endless. That said, this is not the best choice for beginners or early intermediate skiers or boarders. The majority of the terrain is challenging. Also, be prepared to take the free ski bus up and down the valley to experience all that Chamonix has to offer. The main town has an abundance of great restaurants, bars and shops, but consider staying in one of the quieter villages along the valley if you want to avoid the crowds in peak season.

It’s a really impressive town but lacks the charm of an alpine resort such as Avoriaz or Morzine. Logistics are incredibly troublesome getting to a from slopes. We had to really on bus service which is unreliable, overcrowded and insufficient.
It’s definitely not somewhere to take young kids. It really has an adult feel about the place

it is heaven on earth.
it is heaven on earth. I am so at peace when there. 3 months last year. one month this year 2 months next year. you don't go back if it was poor. I ski but if you don't ski there is still plenty to do. I have so much more to explore. the views are unreal. food is more expensive, but I live on a very tight budget and for me it's the same as home. the bus services are great, you can spend a week just exploring on them and are usually free.
It is a very nice hotel outside Chamonix. Chamonix is within walking distance. The walk takes you through forests and meadows along a river, is nice and takes about 40min. However you can take the bus in either direction or both, which is free. On the other hand finding parking here is no problem, compared to Chamonix centre.
The rooms are very small, but well equipped with USB charging stations, a large bath, comfortable bed and table. The breakfast is excellent with a large variety of items and the coffee extraordinary good.
Stunning location, pretty little village of Chamonix, the view from.our balcony was to die for, watching the sun rise over the Mont Blanc Massif, absolutely breathtaking.😍 Rooms are on the small.side.,but then you don't need more. Bed was comfy, I would have liked to have a mini fridge in the room but there was none. Breakfast was ok, for 15 euro/person. Hotel.is located very centrally, close to the main street with shops and restaurants. In the summer they have a pool as well. Overall a nice stay, I would go again for sure.
We stayed in a delux double room which had a duel aspect and large terrace. Fantastic views of Mount Blanc. The room was spacious and comfortable. Good bathroom with a modern shower. The hotel is located opposite the bus stop for Chamonix which is a free ( hotel provides a guest card) 5 minute ride. There is a free car park literally beside the hotel but it is popular. We paid 10 euros for parking reserved for the hotel… beware only 2 places so prebook. We ate in the restaurant which had an adequate menu and enjoyed the meal.
We were welcomed by an extremely friendly staff. Our room was very cosy and clean with a view on the mountain tops. The bed was comfy with spare pillows. We went for dinner in the restaurant, which we really enjoyed (especially the desserts…). The breakfast is amazing with a lot of options. Loved the vibes of the common area with board games and bowling. Big extra is that the hotel is literally in front of Chamonix Sud bus station. Thank you Plan B!
The hotel was so cosy and has so many areas to relax that can’t be described or seen in a photo. The breakfast area, with such a great buffet and that view, almost made us not want to leave the hotel and see beautiful chamonix. Not to mention that we arrived tired at night and fell asleep and when we woke up in the morning I almost had a heart attack seeing the view from my window. We all fell in love with the hotel.
Location of the hotel is at the heart of the shopping district, restaurant and all other shops. Hotel has great room size with good heaters and balcony.
Staff are amazing and helpful, upon checkin small gift given to all guest it was portable glass bottle with led where you can fill it up with fresh water anytime from reception.
Ski shop detached to the hotel as you can rent ski gear with cheap cost.
A lovely hotel, very charming with a spacious beautiful room (room #1) and a big bathroom, very unusual for ski resort hotels at any level. Benoit was an awesome and warm host, kind and attentive at all times. We loved our stay at Hotel le Castel. Breakfast was homey and fresh.
Great location with a 45-second walk to Flagere gondola and the bus stop at our doorstep!
Highly recommended.
located in the very centre of Chamonix, the hotel is convenient, comfortable and welcoming. My room is quite spacious as a single room; well-equipped as well. It is a very nice surprise to have window-view of Mont Blanc. The staff there are all very friendly and helpful, welcoming me to leave luggages, giving useful suggestions. Besides, the hotel provides free beverages.
Simple hotel and I didn't need better, views in Chamonix were magnificent and so was hotel looking like typical alpian hotel I was happy to stay in. Breakfast in the morning was included in price, it was self service "eat as much as you can".
As long as you are not princess I recommend. At the end I should mention great shower in the room.
It was our 3rd time in this hotel and it didn't disappoint ! We love the spa, the location is great, the restaurants too (first time we tried the Cheese restaurant and it was great!)... Also we got an upgrade upon arrival which was much appreciated. The breakfast in room for our son too, many thanks for paying attention to the details!
This is much better than most hotels in Chamonix. Location is fantastic, much better than we expected. it is a big hotel, meaning now and then the reception is stuffed with Chinese tourists, came on a bus, waiting for their room, but all in all, you still feel welcome and a part of Chamonix while you are there.
the hotel was in the perfect location, staff were exceptional and facilities were amazing - we have always stayed in apartments when visiting Chamonix but would 100% recommend this hotel for a fuss free luxury stay at a reasonable price
Very nice hotel. Staff is very welcoming. Rooms are small (that is just the standard in Europe) but very clean and nicely decorated. I would definitely return there.
Perfectly located hotel in a more quiet but still lively and good connected area of Chamonix. The layout of the appartment was great allowing maximum comfort.
